1-Visible seams for material blend | 2-strange material preview behavior

Problem 1

when blending simple materials make with the material blend it does shows up the previous mat in the seams cuts

Problem 2

when previewing a material make blended with the layer project it does show a strange effect, previewing the layer project in the graph it does the same strange behavior as well

Hello @HoH and thanks for reaching out.

Could you please provide the InstaMAT Package for us to test internally?

Thanks!

not needed, this problem it’s the same as the rectangle one you solved in the day, used the solidify on here too, even without the mask option and it solved.

The problem came because it seams to make the masking on the uvs without using the dilation

I don’t know why behave so different from the layering project but it may be something related to the different way it approach the the usage of the imputed mesh.

thought on this

If you wander about why I’m doing this instead of a layer project,

it is because i found some limitation on the layer project side, one of them (the anchor point, where i only found a clunky workaround in a video using three different projects for just an anchor), so i thought it is easier and faster doing this trough just nodes,

and also because i would like to try doing a texturing workflow entirely made up in nodes.

Now which i’ve used the mesh project, i noticed it have an internal solidify set to .01/.03, which is what it’s needed in this case too.
In fact i’m adding a solidify at .01 to all the mesh mask i’m adding.

At this point i think i’m going to add it directly in a duplicated version of the mesh mask,
so it’s just there and i don’t need to add it every time, until the default one have this problem.

but for other mask type like when i want to precisely paint over a place, it does not work so well, because it would cause this bad mask inflation.
