By mesh name occur a strange result

i’m baking by mesh name and it does match the high to low but resulting in a strange baked map.
here’s the video demonstration with the console:

Hello @HoH,

Thank you for providing the video.

Can you provide the high and low poly files for us to test internally? From the video, it’s difficult to determine the mesh setup. If you’d like, you could send the file privately with a PM.

Have you tried baking without the cage?

Thanks!

yep, i’ve tested without the cage, i’ll send the meshes in pm in a while, without the cage, just low and high.

Thanks for mentioning. Let us know if you’re able to reproduce it with other meshes.

i given this to a my friend which baked it in another software and it worked. in my other cases where it worked i used way less pieces. i wander, if IM may have some problems for handling as many pieces as i used in that case, where they are 122 pieces.

I may have to test with something other with as many meshes and tris in order to see if it’s the case or if it’s my pc.
About this, have you tested in your pc with the file i sent?

Thanks for the additional information @HoH.

I have been able to reproduce this with the mesh you have provided. It would be great to know if you are able to reproduce this with other meshes.

I’ve brought this up internally so that we can further look into it.

Thanks!

Thanks again for your post @HoH!

We have investigated the behavior, and it appears there is an issue when matching by mesh name if the input scene contains empty meshes. A fix will be added in the next update.

In the meantime, removing the empty meshes from the scene should result in a successful bake.

Thanks!
