I’m aware that Adobe does NOT permit tileable texture maps exported from the Substance 3D Material Library to be used to texture 3D asset packs that will be resold (any use of textures from their library must be baked in to the object’s UVs).
Two questions:
1. Does Abstract also follow this principle (ie. any texture maps generated via InstaMAT’s existing material library must be baked into the UVs of the commercial asset), or are we permitted to bundle these tileable texture maps, providing the primary value of the pack is NOT the textures themselves?
2. If permitted, is the sale of asset packs utilizing these bundled InstaMAT textures also permitted under the Pioneer License (with appropriate credit in the asset pack’s description), or is a different license required?
I ask because using tileable textures is a common way of increasing texture resolution for a 3D asset without having to increase texture dimensions. Small assets will work fine with textures baked into the UVs, but large assets require the higher resolution of tiling textures. However, if bundling texture maps from InstaMAT’s existing library is NOT permitted, then I will be certain to only use fully original materials created in InstaMAT’s Element Graph to generate tiling textures.
Thanks very much for any clarity you can provide and for your continued development of this excellent software.

Currently, you can bundle the tileable texture maps with the 3D asset pack using the Pioneer license, as long as the InstaMAT watermark is applied to any screenshots and a link to InstaMAT’s website is included in the asset’s description and relevant documentation.

At this time, yes, as long as proper attribution is given following the guidelines for the Pioneer license such as applying the watermark to screenshots and a link to InsatMAT’s website in the description and relevant documentation.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
That’s phenomenal, thank you for clarifying, @Pixby ! I would be creating several materials from scratch for the sake of experience anyways, but it’s great to know that the rich built-in library can also be utilized for this type of project.
You guys truly stand head and shoulders above the competition, and I’m more than happy to provide credit to get the word out! Moreover, the generosity of the Pioneer License has made it possible for me as an indie 3D artist to finally begin learning and using incredible technology that others have made largely inaccessible.
