Hello, I do not see a text field to specify a cage mesh when baking in a Layering project. Does InstaMAT expect meshes with a “_cage” suffix to be exported in the same .fbx file as the low poly mesh? Thanks!

Yes that is correct. The cage mesh should be in the same file as the target mesh and contain the “_cage” suffix in its name.
The suffix can be customized using the Cage Mesh Suffix parameter near the bottom of the Mesh Baking panel.
