Workflow for a non high poly mesh

Hi.
Totally new to Instamat and I really enjoy it.
I have a workflow related question:
When I choose a layered project I can add a target and source mesh for baking.
But If I only want to use a mesh that I’ve made just for texturing using Instamat, without having a high poly version to bake from, what is the prefered. workflow for that?
Thanks

Hi! You can use both workflows, but without the high-poly-to-low-poly baking, you can either bevel all hard edges manually in any DCC program to get the rounded look for your models or, if the intention is to get acute-angled shapes, just use unbeveled models as is.

Thanks!
I just stumbled upon a video that used “pick package resource” instead of “pick local file”.
Just drag and drop my models into the assets.

Hello @gtr,

Thanks for your post and thanks @Denisius!

Yes, you can bake mesh maps for a model if there is not a high poly version by only supplying the Target Mesh in the Mesh Baking panel.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks again!
